Dave Stack
Pours It Himself

Creative Concrete Company has been pouring concrete in the Northwest Suburbs since 1976. Same family, same standards, same phone number people have been passing to their neighbors for decades.

Dave Stack shows up to your estimate, and Dave Stack is on site when the truck arrives. There's no salesman, no subcontracted crew, and no surprise change order after the forms are set. You get a straight number, a real start date, and concrete that's still flat twenty years from now.

From a cracked apron out front to converting a damp crawl space into a full dry basement — if it's flatwork or foundation, it's what we do.

What We Pour

Concrete Services

Residential flatwork and foundation work across Palatine and the surrounding Northwest Suburbs. Tear-out, prep, pour, and finish — all handled in house.

01 / Most Requested

Concrete Driveways

Full tear-out of cracked, sunken or heaved slabs, proper base prep and grading, then a fresh pour with clean control joints so it stays flat through Illinois winters. Aprons, extensions and widenings too.

Backyard slabs sized and sloped correctly so water runs away from the house, not toward it.

What Neighbors Say

★★★★★

"Creative Concrete did our crawl space conversion. Dave was very good to work with, he was prompt and kept at it until it was done. Instead of a dusty crawl space, we now have a nice, dry basement. I would not hesitate to recommend Creative Concrete to anybody for a crawl space conversion."

★★★★★

"I am a very picky person, I want things done my way and am constantly checking to see if things are done my way. Well Dave, the owner and concrete specialist, was a saint, he listened to all my requests and did everything I wanted. He worked so hard I was impressed with his attention to detail and cleaned up everything when the job was finished. I would highly recommend him to all that need concrete work."

Common Questions

Straight Answers

How much does a new concrete driveway cost in Palatine?
Driveway pricing depends on square footage, how much old concrete has to come out, and site access. Most residential driveway replacements around Palatine are quoted as one flat number after an on-site measurement. Estimates are free — text a photo to (847) 833-3081 and we can usually give you a ballpark before we ever drive out.
How long before I can drive on new concrete?
Stay off it on foot for about 24 to 48 hours, and keep vehicles off for roughly 7 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks after that, so avoid heavy trucks, dumpsters and trailers for the first month.
Do you really convert crawl spaces into full basements?
Yes — it's one of our specialties. We dig out the crawl space, underpin the existing foundation, and pour a new floor, turning a damp dirt crawl space into a dry, usable basement. It adds permanent square footage and real value to the house.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free with no obligation. Dave Stack, the owner, comes out personally, measures the area, talks through your options and gives you one written price.
When is the best time of year to pour concrete in Illinois?
Late spring through fall is ideal around Chicago. Concrete can be poured in colder weather with the right mix and protection, but the ground has to be workable. Booking early in the season gets you a better spot on the schedule.
Will you haul away the old concrete?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-off are part of the job. We break out the old slab, remove it from the property, compact and grade the base, then pour. The site gets cleaned up before we leave.
